A Message From Maria Caras, LMHC

Hi there! My name is Maria Kathleen Caras. I live in Staten Island, New York. I am a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor since October 2017. I have been blessed as a solo practitioner to provide counseling services to adolescents and adults. I am a St. John’s University alumni with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. In addition, I am a Fordham University Alumni with a Masters of Science Education degree in Mental Health Counseling.

Throughout my career, I was always drawn to connecting with others who are experiencing grief and loss and being that positive spirit in their lives. It has come natural to me to help grievers, especially that I have personally experienced several losses in my family. Losing several family members in my life has made me resilient. It truly is my purpose to help as many grievers as possible!

When I found The Grief Recovery Method website, I immediately knew that I needed to sign up for the Certified Grief Recovery Specialist training. I had an incredible experience with a wonderful cohort and an amazing teacher named Cole James. In a matter of 4 days, I was certified as a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist!

I am certified to offer the Grief Recovery Method program in group and one to one formats (in person and online)! As an Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist, I will provide you education about grief and the tools you need to recover from your losses. In addition, I will provide you the hope and support you need towards your path to healing and recovery.
